Atmosheric motion lifts water vapor to high altitudes and causes drought. If this happens it causes many plants and animals to try to survive for a short period of time without water. But when the thewater vapor is released it fills up all lakes and gives all the plants and animals water to keep them hydrated. Atmosheric motion is a main cause of drought.

Drought is when you have less rainfall than you expected over an extended period of time, usually several months or longer. Drought is a normal part of climate, and it can occur almost anywhere on earth. Drought's features and effects vary from place to place because of different geographical features and cultures, which affect how people use water. If rain does occur it usually isn't enough for the ground to absorb before it is evaporated again, making it become a drought.
